There was an article today in the Albuquerque Journal about FBI Director Robert Mueller’s recent visit to Albuquerque to meet with the local FBI to discuss the corruption of public officials in our “Land of Enchantment.”

Mueller pitched a new Web site – – which allows citizens to report crimes and cover-ups by public officials and members of law enforcement online. If they wish, they can do this anonymously. They can also send their information by US mail if they don’t want to trust it to e-mail.

We know from the posts on this board and from the private e-mail we receive that many of you have such information but haven’t known where to take it without risk to yourselves. This is the best opportunity we’ve been offered. If our NM FBI office receives enough complaints about the same corrupt agency or individuals, perhaps they’ll do something about it. At least, there's nothing to lose by providing them with such information.

If you decide to do this, be as specific as possible, name names, and provide all the details that you can. If you have inside information, either because you once were involved in illegal activities and have now turned your life around, or if you, yourself, are a former member of law enforcement, who hasn't been able to speak out about what's happening all around you, your information would be especially valuable to federal authorities.

I consider that article my Mother's Day present!

Question: I have a couple of questions...Where was Kait's apartment located? Did Kait ever hang out at Iceland...Iceland gameroom used to be located behind the Burger King on Central and San Mateo...Dung and his friends controlled alot of drug activities out of this location...If you needed to purchase a hand-gun that would have been the location...

Question: I was in an altercation with Dung at pier-one. Actually it was myself and two friends who stopped an altercation between Dung and Kait. This happened either in May or early June of 89...We were in the store and Dung entered and began to yell at kait, we stepped in and threatened to call the police..Dung left the store and kait asked us not to involve the police because she was afraid that she would lose her job..At the time I lived across the street of Fair-Plaza on Cagua a couple house from Lomas.I had several run-ins with Dung after that incident..

Reply: Please, contact me by personal e-mail at with everything you can remember about those altercations. What time of day did the incident at Pier One occur? Did you get a feeling about why Dung was so angry? Did he threaten her with physical violence? Etc. Please, contact me from a working e-mail address, so I can respond and ask additional questions. Because of the timing of this incident, it could be important.

I give you my word, your identity will be kept confidential.

Question: lois duncan,

When i read your book i couldn't believe that something like that happened and the police didn't do all they could to solve it. i was just wondering if you've solved the murder yet. Also i've heard that you were writing another book following up on it and i was wondering if you could tell me what it is called so i can be sure to read it.

P.S. i think you are an awesome author and it must've taken alot of courage to do everything you did, and please write me back!

The three missing hours
Question: I am glad to see that there is so much activity on the message board now. I hope somebody tells you something important and you will finally know what happened. I would really like to know what Kait did in those missing 3 hours from the time she left your house and when she arraived at Sharon's house. Did you find out where the Desert Castle was? Somebody knows what happened. I really hope you find out the truth. We are all waiting to find out who killed Kait. You have waited so long for the truth, you really deserve to find a conclusion and peace. God bless you for never giving up. Hang in there!

Question: If it isnt to much to ask, i would appreciate it if you told me a couple of things about kate:

1.was she your only child?

2.Are you moving from the house that you live in right now because of her murder?

3.Did kate ever tell you she tought someone was stocking her, that she
really hated someone, or that someone had tried to hurt her?

4. Last, i would like to ask you, doesnt it pain you to have to talk about Kate to everybody every day, over and over again, after you know shes gone?

Asked on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at 02:29:02 PM
Reply: 1. Kait was the youngest of our five children.

2. We left New Mexico after WHO KILLED MY DAUGHTER? was published.

3. No, Kait never hinted to us that she was in danger. In the last weeks of her life, she did seem worried and upset, but not frightened. We chalked it up to problems with her boyfriend.

4. Talking about Kait is less painful than not talking about her. We don't want this case to be buried and forgotten. Because -- somewhere out there -- there is someone who can bring us closure. We need for him/her to be able to reach us through this web site.

Question: Im very sorry about what happened to your daughter. As a mother of 2, i cannot imagine losing them. You are a very brave woman, and i really admire you for that. Have you tried to put your case on "Americas most wanted"? I had a friend who her son was brutally raped and murderd, and when she submitted her case to this show, the killer was found 1,ooo miles from where the crime happened 5 months later!!!!!!!!!!! I know that this isnt alot of big help, but i like to help people, woman especially, since im a cop and see these kinds of cases all the time. If we ever find ANY kind of clue as to where the killer of kate might be, i assure i personaly will let you know. Again, i am very sorry.

Reply: No, Kait's case was not on America's Most Wanted, though it was featured on other shows. The case is now too old to be considered for further TV exposure.

Debby, I sure hope you're with APD.

I know noreen Renier does not contact people you have to call her. But it would be nice if Nancy Myer did give Beth & Jug Twitty a call. their phone number is listed in the phone book. Well I jsut feel for Beth I have a daughter and I know the first thing I would of done is call a psychic.

Reply: Reputable psychics don't solicit clients. If the family of a murdered or missing person wants to consult a psychic, it's up to them to initiate the contact.

Question: Dear Friends,

Please, let's not let this message board become a venue for bickering, like so many message boards are. Everybody here, (with one notable exception about a month ago), is well-intentioned and trying to help.

Responding to other people's posts can be confusing, because by the time someone posts a reaction to a particular message, other people have posted additional messages, so you don't always know which message the poster is responding to.

I appreciate the concern of all of you. And I especially appreciate the penetrating questions that open new areas of thought for us.
