Question: It would seem what has been uncovered about the dirty, disgusting, corrupt, words just can't properly describe them-cops, you know who killed Kait.
You probably have the names already based on the bartenders info. Your wedding party witnesses probably saw him/her.
Where can you possibly go from here?
Is there absolutely no recourse?

Asked on Monday, June 13, 2011 at 11:21:55 AM
Reply: No. We don't KNOW who killed Kait. We feel sure she was forced off the road by someone in a heavy car using the PIT technique, as evidenced by the damage to her rear bumper. a VW bug couldn't have done that. Nor could a Camaro. A police car could have. But another large car could have done it as well.

If it was a cop car, we don't know which cop was driving it.

We can speculate which cops were behind the cover-up, but we can't know for certain. So many of them have lied to us that we can't tell who is lying to protect himself/herself and who is lyiing to protect fellow cops.

We can speculate about who fired the shots that killed Kait. In fact, we feel pretty certain. But we can't prove that. And, as ordinary citizens, we don't have the authority to force the people who do know that to talk to us when they don't want to. If we try to contact Dung, he calls the police and reports us for harassment. Sharon refuses to speak to our investigator and If we write to her she threatens to sue us for harassment.

As for your final question -- that is blowiing in the wind.

In your opinion
Question: We all post our musings based on the information that has been made public but since only you have access to all the gathered intelligence I was wondering if you would post what in your opinion really happened to Kait.
FBI connection, wrong place wrong time, willing then unwilling participant, naivety concerning her associations? Perhaps elements of all?

Asked on Monday, June 13, 2011 at 09:48:49 AM
Reply: I am as overwhelmed by the overload of information as you are. There are TOO MANY possibilities.

FBI connection? Possible but unproven.

Wrong place, wrong time? I find that doubtful. If "they' (whoever "they were") were out to kill her, and she didn't hadn't been on Lomas on the night of July 16 as planned, but was safely tucked in bed in her old room at our house, "they" would have gotten her the next night. Or the night after that.

Willing participant? Yes, in the beginning, I feel sure she covered up for Dung's involvement in the carwreck scam. She was in love with him and didn't want him deported But I don't believe she would have covered up drug importation, especially when she'd reached a point where she was breaking up with Dung and had ordered him to move out of her apartment.

Naivety concerning her associations? Certainly, in the beginning. But that naivety lessened as she learned more and more about all that was going on. However, I believe she maintained enough naivety to believe she would come through all right in the long run. In the world our family lived in, teenage girls didn't get murdered when they decided to break up with their boyfriends.

Your P.I.
Question: You said you had an earlier PI who received veiled threats against his child if he continued his investigation, and he did stop.

Has your current PI been similarly threatened, and if so, how has she withstood the intimidation?

Asked on Monday, June 13, 2011 at 01:35:12 AM
Reply: In 1994, when this private investigator entered our lives, we had been misled so often by authority figures that we didn't know whom we could trust. So, (please don't scoff), I asked the psychic Betty Muench to do a reading on this particular PI.

That reading said: "This person, the private investigator, will have great ability in the area of empathy, and she will become a kind of advocate for others in this same situation. Hers is a destiny unto itself, totally aside from her relationship with this family. There will be this which she does for the idea, the concept, of this injustice. That is her motivation. She is not in this for any kind of aggrandizement, but for the concept of justice, which is her karmic purpose in this time. She will know that she will be able to make contacts in ways that others cannot, and she can get information in ways that others cannot. Thus then her assistance in this will prove very helpful."

That's the only answer I can give you. This is a person who is willing to face anything in order to bring about justice, not just for us but for others. She has turned her agency non-profit and is also helping other families in our same situation. Without charge to those families.

Question: Thank you for responding...would you ever list the cops or is that A) too dangerous for the widow and/or B) a legal slippery slope?

Asked on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at 07:34:03 AM
Reply: B. It would be libel unless we can prove it, and to prove it we would need more than information from one person. We receive a lot of tips from people, some of which have proved valid and some that were apparently meant to deliberately misdirect us. We always need at least two unrelated sources of information that isn't a matter of public record.

Sandia Heights
Question: I just wanted to concur with the other poster who stated that several of the homes up tierra monte/sandia heights look in various states of disrepair with very old, dilapidated cars parked out front, and this includes 7 sandia heights. It is indeed very weird. Like time stood is EERIE.
Is that not prime real estate up there?

Question: Did the bartender who used to work on Kirtland say WHO he thought was calling him and WHY they felt threatened enough to track him down and attempt to scare him?

Asked on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 07:14:04 PM
Reply: The bartender had been telling us and also a federal agent about drug importation via military aircraft that would land at Kirtland AFB for refeuling. The drug dealer also identified certain APD officers who regularly partied at the Road Runner Lounge on Kirtland and who -- according to the bartender -- were involved in dealing those drugs. The bartender thought the calls were from one of those cops.

Question: I was thinking about Sharon's story about her dog biting her on the day of the funeral. Do you or the police know for certain that she had a dog at the time or is that just a story she made up? I was also wondering if you know what the other crime scene was on the night of Kait's shooting. Can it have a connection to Kait's shooting?

Asked on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 12:12:57 PM
Reply: Sharon did have a dog at that time. She did end up in the emergency room with a wounded arm on the date of Kait's funeral on July 20, 1989.

Public records do indicate that Sharon was at one time bitten by a dog. But they state the date of that incident was August 21, 1989.

I don't know the details of the other shooting that occurred earlier on the same evening that Kait was shot. I do know it involved a shooting by a police officer.

We're received no information that links it to Kait's case.

Answered by: Kait's Mom
Question: I was wondering if your PI ever looked into police officers who reported inexplicable right front damage to their police car around the time Kait was murdered? Damage that would be consistent with a successfully executed PIT maneuver perhaps. Could she get access to that info?

Personally I think the glass trail observed would have been consistent with initial shots from the higher caliber used, judging by the door frame, a possible PIT maneuver to run her into the pole and then final shots with smaller caliber (.22 perhaps? Paul Apodacas choice of weapon).
Going by the size of the hole in the door frame if that caliber had been used for the execution there. would not just be an exit wound- it would be a gaping hole.

But I am hoping you have already deduced this.

Asked on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 10:56:15 AM
Reply: You're right, we've "deduced" this. But we have no way of obtaining records of damage to police cars. APD would certainly not divulge such information.

Your speculation about the use of two weapons makes sense.

Answered by: Kait's Mom
Question: Have you ruled out the connection with the FBI or just have not received any conclusive evidence one way or another?
I know I would not have recognized governmental "VIP's" when I was 18, not saying Kait couldn't, just that that supposed connection seems like it would be connected with a federal investigation. Then factoring in the raid on Arno, her FBI file, the subsequent report that read like a "who's who" in NM politics, the fact that her murder appears to be a cooperation of several different groups who felt threatened by whatever knowledge she possessed it all seems to point to her actually working with the feds. Maybe she contated them or they her after identifying her connection with Dung...perhaps Dung was punished with the stabbing for bringing this down on the network by his involvement with Kait. That scenario certainly sounds like "a dangerous game of Nancy Drew" to me.
Her fear, reverie and melancholia towards the end of her life seem to point that she knew THEY knew and felt helpless

Asked on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 07:56:54 AM
Reply: That's a very well thought out speculation.

No, we have not ruled it out by any means. But we have no way to verify it. The FBI does not reveal anything to anybody.

Question: I am guessing my question about the bartender on Kirtland is deliberately being deleted? Should I stop posting it?

Asked on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 07:33:03 AM
Reply: I'm sorry. I thought I responded to that question the first time it was asked: "The bartender left New Mexico and died in a different state of natural causes. No connection with Kait's case."

I assumed the repetative posts were by our Web Master as he attempted to work out some technical problems with the message board.

If you have a further question about the bar tender, please ask again. And forgive me for getting confused about this. (Since most of the posts on this board are anonymous, it's difficult to tell if the same person or a different person is posting a question that's previously been asked.)

Answered by: Kait's Mom
General question
Question: Is there any possibility that Kait was working with a federal agency? Could she have been coerced
(blackmailed) into cooperating and that's what got her killed?
There seems to be way too much federal activity around the Arno location...too much to be a coincidence?
Kait was the type of girl that gets brought in as an accomplice and threatened with prison if she doesn't cooperate with intelligence gathering. Her FBI file sounds way too thick. It could have been the wreck scheme that gave the feds an in to "convince" her to assist them. If she got outed it would have been deadly.

Asked on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 08:26:46 PM
Reply: That same possibility has occurred to us. Especially considering the fact that Kait was murdered only a couple of weeks after her co-worker turnd in a packet to heroin to the FBI.

I don't think Kait would have needed to be threatened to collaborate with the feds in exposing criminal activities. She would have considered it an exciting adventure and seen herself as another Nancy Drew.

Answered by: Kait's Mom
Question: Have you ever elaborated on what was said in the calls you received that prompted you to move away? If not would you do so here?
You have stated that people from different nationalities made the threats, what nationalities were they and do you think they were indeed thus or were they faking the accent?

Asked on Monday, June 06, 2011 at 06:27:44 PM
Reply: No, I have not elaborated on the content of those threats and don't intend to. Some calls were from people with Hispanic accents and with one I could hear a child speaking Spanish in the background. Another was a male with no accent. One was a female who stated she was Vietnamese and referred to some personal things about our family that would only have been known by talking to someone who had been in our home. Therefore I'm assuming she truly was Vietnamese. One P.I., who was helping us pro bono, received a call from a man whose voice he recognized as that of a particular police officer who made a veiled threat to the life of the PI's child if the P.I. continued his investigation of Kait's case. That P.I. discontinued his investigation. He would not tell us the identity of the officer.

Question: That person makes a very interesting point with the sting scenario

Asked on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 05:19:12 PM
Reply: Yes, he/she does.

Answered by: Kait's Mom
Seems that this theory isnt far off...
Question: There was sometime of sting going down either with undercover Padillla and / or the feds. Thats why all these people were in the same place at the same time. Possibly a sting on a cop.or Dung and his pals at the base. The feds pop the bodyshop on "unrelated" ATF charges, but conviently after Kaits death. So thats why nobody will talk. And either the sting went bad with Kait being shot possibly by mistake..maybe someone elese was supposed to be "in her car" like sharon or Dung. And when a sting goes bad, theyre not just gonna say " oh sorry' we thouhjt your daughter was "another drug dealer " we were trying to buy drugs from tonight......just some thoughts.

Asked on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 03:36:58 PM
Reply: That's an interesting theory and certainly far from impossible.

Question: Pat Dunworths wife Carol Dunworth would appear to be Carol Applewhite, former postal worker who in 1986 was busted with her then husband, airman William Applewhite in a sting operation by Kirtland to clamp down on flow of illegal drugs on base.
They were attempting to purchase pot/cocaine and a partially filled syringe was found in Carol's sock
This is public record because Carol attempted to sue under posse comitatus.

Also can you not bring some type of wrongful death against Dung?

Asked on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 08:10:48 AM
Reply: Thank you for this info.

I just read the post above yours, and that may nulify it. I'll check it out.

We can't bring a wrongful death charge against Dung because (1) we don't have evidence that he was involved in the murder and (20 the statute of limitations for wrongful death charge has run out.

apartment managers
Question: Did the apartment managers at Kaits building say WHY they were afraid for their lives?

Also the individuals who called the bartender and threatened him KNEW where he was so how can his death be ruled definitively as natural causes?

From everything I've read here about Dung it honestly sounds to me like he was/is an emotionally unstable individual

Asked on Monday, May 23, 2011 at 09:11:16 PM
Reply: The apartment manager was not specific about the reason for their fear.

We were in constant touch with the bartender's spouse through out the bartender's illness and have absolutely no doubt that there was no foul play involved.

Tierra Monte or #7 Sandia Heights
Question: Which is the house that was considered "a castle" in one of the psychic's readings of Kait's thoughts, Tierra Monte or #7 Sandia Heights? Because #7 does not look like a castle, Tierra Monte looks more like a castle.

Asked on Monday, May 23, 2011 at 03:16:01 PM

I don't know which house it is. I only know that Noah's house was at #7. There's no evidence that Noah's house was the alleged "Desert Castle."

Noah Robinson
Question: If Noah Robinson entertained political VIP\'s in his house in Albuquerque at the foothills, could that not be the \"Desert Castle\" where Kait saw VIP\'s buying drugs? Was Noah Robinson not also in the drug trade?
