I have no information, only a suggestion. I too have dealt with the police and courts in Horry County in other matters and to say the least I believe it to be corrupt and I feel there are many injustices going on the public does not know about. The lawyers are just as corrupt in dealing with their own cases as well. I feel the police, judges, lawyers and even the politicians are all ignoring real crimes and people's rights and failing to do their jobs and covering up a lot of misdeeds and misrepresentation on their part.
My suggestion would be to contact a TV Show such as Cold Case Files, even Oprah. This would make your son's case known to a much wider public. The simple fact that the police failed to do their job and the fact they refuse to continue to investigate only makes them look more guilty and possibly covering up "something."
In all my years working in the medical field, I have yet to see a suicide by gunshot turn in a fire victim. I would take your case to a wider audience and get it on a TV show that has a very big audience and who will listen. Maybe this will bring about more information and help you to solve your son's murder and get some closure and justice. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Here's our suggestion: (1) Read the case reports carefully and make notes about important points in the stories. (2) Make a note of every “death date.” (3) Go onto the Net and find contact information for the newspapers and TV stations in the areas where the murders took place or where the victim lived. (4) About three weeks prior to the anniversaries of those deaths, print out a copy of the case report as written by the victim’s family and add your own cover letter, addressing the important points that you've identified and requesting that a reporter do an update of the case on the anniversary of the death. If reporters want contact information, they can e-mail Real Crimes (there’s an e-mail envelope on the web site) and we’ll put them in direct touch with the families. (5) Mail copies to every media contact you’ve located. (6) Ask everybody you know to do the same.
