From a taped interview with Tom Stump’s daughter, Sally, conducted by Detective Jan Penley on July 28, 1995:

Q: What happened that morning when you got up, do you remember?

A: He gave..he got me juice and we played on the computer. I fell asleep and I took a bath...

Q: What did Daddy say? Did he say anything?

A: Umm, umm, he said I'm trying hard to keep us together, that's all. That's what he said.

Q: Ok. So you went back to sleep and took a nap and what happened after you got back up?

A: When I woke up he was getting ready to leave....And he said bye, and he said I won't come back and he got in the car and he left and he never came back.
