A Pass Christian police officer has been arrested on charges of sexual battery.

Tom Pustay, 50, is being held in the Harrison County Jail under a $200,000 bond.

Pustay is accused of having sex with a juvenile female. He's been with the Pass Christian Police Department for 21 years and had risen to the rank of chief investigator.

Police Chief John Dubisson says Pustay resigned from the force Wednesday, and that the entire department is in shock. He also says the cases Pustay was working on could be hurt because Pustay probably won't be testifying in court.
